The Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, in association with the Office of the Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada, hosted a high-level roundtable discussion titled “West Coast India to West Asia – Charting a Mangaluru–Israel Trade Roadmap” at the KCCI premises.
The roundtable brought together policymakers, diplomats and industry leaders to deliberate on strengthening bilateral trade and investment linkages between Mangaluru and Israel. Discussions focused on identifying concrete opportunities across key sectors such as advanced technology, agriculture, innovation, start-ups and private sector-led growth.
Participants highlighted Israel’s strengths in agri-tech, water management, innovation ecosystems and R&D, and explored ways these capabilities could align with Mangaluru’s industrial base, port-led connectivity and growing entrepreneurial landscape. Emphasis was laid on creating structured business partnerships, facilitating technology transfer and encouraging direct engagement between enterprises from both regions.
The interaction marked an important step towards building a long-term, institutionalised framework for cooperation, while reinforcing Mangaluru’s potential as a strategic trade, technology and innovation hub on India’s west coast, linking domestic industry with West Asian markets.
