MASkargo has reinstated its dedicated freighter services to Ho Chi Minh City, marking a strategic step to strengthen its regional cargo network and meet rising demand across Southeast Asia.

The resumed operations will enhance connectivity between Malaysia and Vietnam, supporting the movement of key commodities such as electronics, textiles, perishables, and e-commerce shipments. The route is expected to play a vital role in facilitating trade flows between manufacturing hubs and global markets.

Industry sources indicate that the decision to restore freighter services comes amid improving cargo demand and supply chain normalization in the region. With Vietnam continuing to emerge as a major export powerhouse, airlines are increasingly focusing on expanding capacity to the country’s commercial centers.

The service will be operated using dedicated freighter aircraft, ensuring greater reliability and flexibility for shippers compared to bellyhold capacity on passenger flights. The move is also expected to provide logistics providers with more scheduling options and improved transit times.

MASkargo noted that the reinstated link aligns with its broader strategy to rebuild and expand its freighter network post-pandemic, while capitalizing on growth opportunities in intra-Asia trade lanes.

The development underscores the carrier’s commitment to strengthening its footprint in Southeast Asia and supporting the region’s dynamic export-driven economies.
