The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), in partnership with CStar Shipping Company and United Global Logistics (UGL), has announced the launch of the new FEM1 shipping service at Jeddah Islamic Port.

This move aims to boost exports and imports, aligning with Mawani’s vision for reliable and sustainable port operations, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

This initiative supports Mawani’s ongoing efforts to improve global maritime navigation networks. By enhancing port competitiveness and increasing connections to both Eastern and Western ports, it contributes to Saudi Arabia’s National Strategy for Transport and Logistic Services. The strategy aims to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub, linking three continents.

    Connection with key ports

The new FEM1 service links Jeddah Islamic Port to major ports in China, Malaysia, and Türkiye, including Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Kelang, and Istanbul. With a capacity of 2,758 standard containers, this service strengthens Jeddah’s role as a key gateway to Europe, Asia, and Africa. Its strategic position provides a competitive advantage to exporters and importers, establishing it as a major transit point on the Red Sea coast.
