    The Unit Approval Committee (UAC) of the Madras Export Processing Zone Special Economic Zone (MEPZ SEZ), chaired by Arthur Worchuiyo, has approved a fresh set of projects spanning multiple sectors across the Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Puducherry (TAP) Region.

    The newly cleared proposals cover sectors including IT and IT-enabled services, nutraceuticals, warehousing and logistics, engineering services, and footwear manufacturing, reinforcing the region’s position as a growing industrial and export hub.

    According to the committee, the approved projects will attract investments exceeding ₹450 crore and are expected to create nearly 6,650 employment opportunities.

    Among the major approvals, Grand Atlantia Panapakkam SEZ Developers Private Limited will establish its SEZ unit at SIPCOT SEZ in Panapakkam, Ranipet. Impex has also received approval to set up its unit at SIPCOT SEZ, Bargur. In the nutraceuticals segment, Tamilnadu Nutraceutical Innovation Hub (TNIH) Private Limited will establish its SEZ unit at the Integrated Chennai Business Park India Private Limited FTWZ in Ponneri.

    Officials said the approvals are expected to strengthen manufacturing, exports, and logistics infrastructure in the TAP Region while supporting industrial diversification and job creation.
