Montra Electric eHCV (IPL Tech), part of the Murugappa Group’s TI Clean Mobility, has become the first electric truck OEM in India to partner with Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) under the National Highway for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) initiative. The collaboration aims to deploy over 1,000 electric trucks across key sectors and routes, boosting commercial viability for clean freight.

The partnership will offer blended climate financing, pre-agreed commercial terms, and integration with future-ready charging networks. Montra trucks will also be pilot-tested under NHEV’s Tech Trial IV on major highway corridors, providing actionable operational data for fleet operators.

Jalaj Gupta, MD of Montra Electric, said the move “lowers adoption barriers and makes electric trucking a profitable, practical choice for transporters nationwide.” The initiative supports India’s push to decarbonise freight, reduce logistics costs, and strengthen the EV ecosystem.
