    Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW), held discussions on key port-led development initiatives during a visit to Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata.

    The meeting was attended by Chairperson Shri Rathendra Raman, Managing Director (HDC), senior officials, and Heads of Departments (HoDs). Discussions focused on enhancing port efficiency, strengthening infrastructure, and advancing initiatives aligned with the Government of India’s vision of port-led growth.

    During the review, officials assessed ongoing infrastructure projects, operational improvements, and future development plans aimed at increasing capacity, improving service delivery, and boosting the port’s competitiveness. The deliberations also emphasized the importance of modernizing port facilities and fostering sustainable growth to support India’s expanding maritime trade.

    The visit reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry and port leadership to accelerating development initiatives and reinforcing the strategic role of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, as a key gateway for trade and logistics in eastern India.
