    Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) following strong demand on the North Europe to the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Bahamas trade routes.

    For the US, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas ports of destination (PODs), as from 1 September 2024 until further notice, the PSS will be charged at:

    • USD 800/20DV
    • USD 1000/40DV-HC
    • USD 1500/Reefer

    For Canada PODs, as from 1 September 2024until further notice, the PSS will be charged at:

    • USD 800/20DV
    • USD 1000/40DV-HC
    • USD 1500/Reefer

    For Mexico PODs, as from 1 September 2024 until further notice, the PSS will be charged at:

    • USD 700/20DV
    • USD 800/40DV-HC
    • USD 1000/REEFER

    Last week, Wärtsilä and MSC agreed on the sale of the Trieste production facility.
