    Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a revamp to its standalone Spain to/from Mauritania and Senegal service offering enhanced connectivity.

    This is primarily to support the export of melons during the melon season in Senegal and Mauritania.

    The service will start from Dakar in mid-February, and rotates as follows:

    Valencia – Sète – Las Palmas – Nouakchott – Dakar – Valencia

    The upgraded service now includes:

    • A new direct call to Sète in France, serving the French and Italian markets;
    • A direct call to Valencia, servicing the Spanish market
    • Weekly departure from Dakar and Nouakchott;
    • Competitive transit times from Senegal and Mauritania to the West Mediterranean.

    Earlier this week, MSC launched iReefer, a remote tracking and monitoring system for reefer containers.
