Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has launched iReefer, a remote tracking and monitoring system for reefer containers.

According to MSC, customers may use iReefer to follow their temperature-controlled shipments in real time, from any location in the globe.

iReefer, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week on our myMSC eBusiness platform or via an Application Programming Interface (API), provides you with instant access to real-time shipment information like as location, temperature, humidity, and more.

The shipping giant noted that iReefer benefits include:

    • Increased openness and compliance with regulatory regulations.
    • Real-time monitoring of reefer containers reduces the risk of damage and loss and allows for fast reaction to possible concerns.
    • Temperature control ensures optimal conditions for temperature-sensitive cargo.
    • Data-driven insights and predictive analytics improve supply chain efficiency for customers.
    • Improved reefer container security by providing rapid notifications for tampering or unauthorised access.
    • Cost savings by avoiding spoilage, damage, and insurance claims.

In January, MSC imposed an Emergency Operation Surcharge (EOS) from North Europe to America.
