A new direct container service that connects Jacksonville to ports in India and Pakistan will begin calling on JaxPort this month, the port authority announced June 4.

Ocean Network Express (ONE) will call the SSA Jacksonville Container Terminal at the port’s Blount Island Marine Terminal with its West India North America container service. The port rotation is Bin Qasim, Pakistan; Hazira, Nhava Sheva, and Mundra in India; New York; Savannah, Georgia; Jacksonville; Charleston, South Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; and back to Bin Qasim.

It will be JaxPort’s first direct container service connection with each of the South Asia ports.

JaxPort first announced the new service in December 2023. The June 4 announcement was on the timing of the start of the service in Jacksonville.

Common commodities on the service are expected to include consumer goods such as electronics, perishable food items, and retail goods including textiles and apparel.
