Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has introduced a new Transpacific Latin Pacific 8 (TLP8) service to expand its Asia–Latin America network and improve direct connectivity between China and Mexico.

    TLP8 will complement the carrier’s existing TLP1, TLP2, TLP5, and TLP6 loops.

The new service offers direct Qingdao–Ensenada and Qingdao–Manzanillo sailings in 16 and 20 days, respectively.

The first sailing is scheduled to depart Shanghai on 20 August 2025.

According to OOCL, the port rotation is as follows: Shanghai – Qingdao – Ensenada – Manzanillo – Ensenada – Yokohama – Shanghai

In February, OOCL Iris, the biggest vessel to ever call the Port of Savannah, arrived at Garden City Terminal.

More recently, last month, OOCL released its unaudited operational update for the second quarter ended 30 June 2025, revealing a mixed performance across its major trade lanes.
