One month has passed since the launch of the NLDS ULIP Logixtics Hackathon 2.0, and the excitement and anticipation surrounding this groundbreaking initiative continue to build. The hackathon, spearheaded by NICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd. (NLDSL) in collaboration with Niti Aayog – Atal Innovation Mission and Startup India, aims to harness innovation and technology to address pressing challenges in India’s logistics industry.
A Successful Launch
The launch event, held under the chairmanship of Shri Rajeev Singh Thakur, Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), witnessed an overwhelming response from the industry. Over 1800 attendees joined the kick-off, both physically and virtually, demonstrating the widespread interest.
Building on the success of Hackathon 1.0
The inaugural edition of the ULIP Logixtics Hackathon resulted in the development of cutting-edge solutions and now Hackathon 2.0 invited developers, start-ups, and industry players to come together once again. The focus of this year’s hackathon is on addressing key logistics challenges such as sustainability, complex supply chain processes, unified documentation, applying AI and ML algorithms to optimize efficiency, implementing IoT solutions, exploring the use of automation and robotics to streamline processes and much
more to transform the logistics landscape of India.
Shri Rajeev Singh Thakur expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “We are excited to launch NLDS ULIP Logixtics Hackathon 2.0, an initiative that fosters creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.
With the tremendous success of Hackathon 1.0, we are confident that this year’s event will generate even more innovative solutions to shape the future of India’s logistics ecosystem.”

I would strongly encourage the logistics and startups community to participate in the hackathon, identify problems and try to build solutions integrating ULIP”.

Overwhelming Response and Road Ahead
The NLDS ULIP Logixtics Hackathon 2.0 has received an overwhelming response, attracting a significant number of registrations and idea submissions (will mention the numbers here). The shortlisted teams are now gearing up for the prototype development round, where they will leverage ULIP APIs to create innovative solutions.
Stay tuned for the grand finale in December, where the top 10 teams will showcase their groundbreaking ideas and the winners will be announced. As the hackathon progresses, we eagerly anticipate the innovative solutions that will emerge and contribute to the transformation of India’s logistics sector.
ULIP is a digital gateway that allows industry players to access logistics-related datasets from various Government systems through API-based integration. Currently, the platform integrates with 38 systems from 11 ministries via 121 APIs, covering over 1800 data fields. Private sector participation in ULIP has been instrumental in amplifying its impact, with over 1000 companies registered on the ULIP portal (www.goulip.in). Additionally, these companies have developed over 100 applications, leading to more than 54 crore API transactions.
