Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced a new ETS surcharge starting from 1 July 2024 until further notice.

Starting from 1 January 2024, the maritime transportation industry has been included in the scope of the European Union Emission Trading System (EU ETS).

In relation to the announcement made late last year, ONE has reviewed and updated the EU ETS tariff, which will come into effect from 1 July 2024.

This will apply to all existing contracts and new contracts that have commenced on and after 1 January 2024.

The tariff shall be reviewed every quarterly; however, this is subject to change with prior notification.

In April 2024, ONE and Portchain agreed on a deal to drive sustainability across the carrier’s network through the digitalisation of berth alignment.
