Global container carrier Ocean Network Express (ONE) has expanded its AX4 service to strengthen maritime connectivity between key ports in Asia and South America, aiming to support growing trade flows between the two regions.

The enhanced AX4 route will connect several major Asian export hubs with strategic ports along South America’s west coast, providing shippers with improved schedule reliability and broader market access. The expansion is expected to benefit industries such as agriculture, mining, manufacturing and consumer goods that rely on regular container shipping between the regions.

According to the company, the service enhancement is designed to optimise network efficiency while offering customers greater flexibility and transit options. By adding additional port calls and improving service coverage, ONE aims to better accommodate increasing cargo volumes and evolving trade patterns.

Asia–South America trade has shown steady growth in recent years, driven by rising demand for commodities, food products and manufactured goods. Shipping lines have been strengthening services along the corridor to capture expanding opportunities in these markets.

The AX4 service forms part of ONE’s broader global liner network, which connects hundreds of ports across major international trade lanes. The company continues to refine its service offerings as it seeks to maintain competitiveness in a rapidly changing container shipping landscape.

Industry observers note that service expansions such as the AX4 enhancement reflect ongoing efforts by major carriers to strengthen regional connectivity and improve supply chain resilience for exporters and importers operating across long-haul trade routes.
