Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has stepped up efforts to strengthen Odisha’s maritime and industrial ecosystem, with senior port officials holding strategic discussions with a Dutch-led consortium evaluating Odisha as a preferred location for establishing a shipbuilding cluster.
PPA Chairman Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit and Deputy Chairman Shri T. Venu Gopal, along with senior Heads of Departments, held discussions with representatives of the consortium. Odisha’s established steel, mining and broader industrial ecosystem is being considered as a key advantage for the proposed shipbuilding cluster.
The initiative could further strengthen linkages between the state’s industrial base, port infrastructure and maritime manufacturing capabilities, while creating opportunities for investment and development across the wider maritime value chain.
Meanwhile, a Strategic Stakeholders Meeting was held at the new Boardroom of Paradip Port Authority under the leadership of Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit and Shri T. Venu Gopal, with participation from PPA’s HODs.
The meeting focused on enhancing cargo growth, strengthening operational efficiency, improving coordination among stakeholders and identifying new opportunities for port-led industrial development.
The discussions form part of PPA’s broader efforts to modernise port infrastructure, expand industrial capabilities and strengthen international partnerships.
PPA reiterated its commitment to fostering global collaborations and port-led industrial development to support Odisha’s emergence as a major maritime and trade hub.
