Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) has achieved a major milestone with the arrival of its 4,000th LNG cargo at the Dahej LNG Terminal in Gujarat, reaffirming the terminal’s critical role in strengthening India’s energy security and supporting the country’s transition towards a cleaner energy future.
The landmark cargo was received on 26 August 2026, marking a remarkable journey since the terminal began operations in 2004. Notably, the terminal has handled the latest 1,000 LNG cargoes in just over four years, reflecting the sustained growth in India’s LNG demand and the terminal’s operational capabilities.
The achievement comes against the backdrop of continuing global challenges, including disruptions to LNG supply chains arising from prolonged geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East. Despite these uncertainties, Dahej LNG Terminal has continued to provide reliable access to LNG and support the country’s growing energy requirements.
Located on the challenging and turbulent waters of the Gulf of Khambhat, the Dahej terminal has established itself as India’s largest LNG gateway. Over the years, it has played a pivotal role in ensuring reliable energy supplies to industries, power generation and other sectors while contributing to India’s broader energy transition ambitions.
PLL said the milestone reflects its continued commitment to safety, security, sustainability and environmental stewardship, while maintaining world-class standards across terminal operations.
