Pacific International Lines (PIL) has enhanced its Imara Express (IMX) service with a butterfly network configuration comprising two dedicated loops, offering weekly direct connections between India and two key East African gateways — Mombasa in Kenya and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

The enhanced service is designed to meet growing trade demand along the India–East Africa corridor by providing wider cargo reach, greater routing flexibility and improved access to regional markets. The network combines the capabilities of PIL and its consortium partners to deliver consistent service frequency and strengthened regional coverage.

The first sailing of the IM1 loop will depart Nhava Sheva on September 24, 2026, while the IM2 loop will commence from Nhava Sheva on September 23, 2026.

William Ho, General Manager, Long-Haul Services, PIL, said the enhanced IMX service would provide customers with improved market access, greater routing options and a stronger logistics platform to support business growth.

The two dedicated loops will operate on the following port rotations:

IM1 – Dar es Salaam Gateway:
Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Dar es Salaam – Nhava Sheva

    IM2 – Mombasa Gateway:
Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Mombasa – Nhava Sheva
