Singapore-based Pacific International Lines (PIL) has marked the maiden call of its 14,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container vessel Kota Ebony at Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), Jordan, on 21 August 2026.
A commemorative ceremony was held aboard the vessel on 23 August, with representatives from PIL and Aqaba Container Terminal presenting a plaque to Capt. Sun Jinjian, Master of Kota Ebony, to mark the vessel’s first call at the Jordanian port.
Kota Ebony is PIL’s third “E” Class vessel and was delivered to the company in February 2025. The vessel is currently deployed on PIL’s Red Sea Service (RS2) route.
Following her Aqaba call, Kota Ebony is scheduled to sail to Egypt and Djibouti, before returning to Singapore and China.
PIL said the maiden call reinforces its commitment to developing a greener and more connected global shipping network. The deployment of LNG dual-fuel tonnage forms part of the carrier’s efforts to improve operational efficiency and support more sustainable maritime trade.
The Aqaba call also strengthens PIL’s connectivity in the Red Sea region, supporting cargo flows between the Middle East, Asia and other key global markets.
