Pacific International Lines (PIL) marked a key milestone on July 6 with the inaugural call of its vessel Kota Santos at the newly opened Dongwon Global Terminal (DGT) in Busan New Port.

The DGT, which began operations in April, is South Korea’s largest and first fully automated container terminal, equipped with advanced technologies such as automated guided vehicles and remote-controlled ship-to-shore cranes. The facility is designed to improve efficiency, ensure faster vessel turnaround, and enhance schedule reliability.

The Kota Santos, deployed on PIL’s West Coast Central and South America Service 6 (WS6), was received in a ceremony attended by PIL’s local team, marked by an exchange of gifts with the terminal operator.

PIL said the new call at DGT reinforces its commitment to delivering reliable services and integrating innovative solutions into its global network.
