Phase 1 of DP World’s $85 million Sokhna Logistics Park in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
DP World Sokhna, the local subsidiary of DP World, had broken ground on the 300,000-sqm project in November 2023. By February this year, 65% of the first phase was completed, with final completion targeted for June 2025.
The park, integrated with DP World’s multipurpose terminal at Ain Sokhna Port, will feature bonded and non-bonded warehouses, value-added services, an open cargo yard, an empty container yard, and build-to-suit infrastructure. It is designed to support industries such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, retail, automotive, and textiles.
Sokhna Port already plays a crucial role in Egypt’s trade, handling 21% of the country’s total trade in 2024—a share expected to rise to 24% in 2025. The port managed 1.75 million TEUs last year, with refrigerated container exports nearly doubling year-on-year, strengthening its position as a hub for agricultural and food exports.
To further enhance efficiency, two advanced mobile cranes were added to the port’s operations last month.
