Singapore-based container line Pacific International Lines (PIL) has marked a significant milestone in its sustainability journey as its LNG-powered vessel, Kota Odyssey, made its first entry into the Red Sea and completed its maiden call at Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT), Saudi Arabia.
The port call highlights PILβs ongoing efforts to advance cleaner and more efficient shipping operations. As part of its fleet renewal and decarbonisation strategy, the deployment of LNG-powered vessels reflects the companyβs commitment to reducing carbon emissions and supporting greener maritime logistics.
The occasion was commemorated in collaboration with key stakeholders, including Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) and the Saudi Customs Authority, alongside representatives from RSGT, the vesselβs crew, and PIL Arabia staff.
With a regional office established in Saudi Arabia, PIL continues to strengthen its presence in the Kingdom while enhancing connectivity across the Red Sea corridor. The successful maiden call underscores strong partnerships between the shipping line and Saudi maritime authorities, reinforcing shared ambitions for operational excellence and environmental responsibility.
