Piyush Goyal and Sarbananda Sonowal co-chaired a high-level meeting with India’s exporters, importers and port authorities to discuss measures aimed at strengthening the country’s trade ecosystem and enhancing global competitiveness.
During the meeting, the ministers directly engaged with industry stakeholders to address key concerns and identify opportunities for improving trade facilitation and logistics efficiency. The discussions focused on coordinated and time-bound actions to support Indian traders and businesses amid evolving global trade dynamics.
Piyush Goyal said the government is committed to adopting a “Whole of the Government” approach to create a seamless and responsive trade environment that supports exporters and importers across sectors.
The ministers highlighted the government’s continued efforts toward building a future-ready trade ecosystem by improving port connectivity, streamlining processes and advancing Ease of Doing Business initiatives. The interaction also underscored the importance of closer coordination between ministries, port authorities and the trade community to strengthen India’s position in global commerce.
