Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 594-km Ganga Expressway, a major infrastructure project linking Meerut and Prayagraj, aimed at boosting regional connectivity, trade, and economic development in Uttar Pradesh.

The expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time between western and eastern parts of the state, improving logistics efficiency for freight movement and passenger transport. Officials say the corridor will strengthen supply chains for agriculture, manufacturing, and industrial clusters along its route.

The project is also seen as a key driver for investment, with improved access to rural and semi-urban markets, enhanced industrial connectivity, and better integration with national highway networks. It is expected to support warehousing, cold chain expansion, and new logistics hubs.

Government officials highlighted the expressway as part of broader efforts to modernize infrastructure and improve regional economic integration. The project is anticipated to play a major role in accelerating trade flows and supporting long-term economic growth in northern India.
