Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched and inaugurated projects worth approximately ₹13,500 crore and flagged off four new trains in Madhubani, Bihar, on Thursday, coinciding with National Panchayati Raj Day. PTI has reported that the projects span railway infrastructure, an LPG bottling plant, and initiatives in the power sector, along with benefits distributed under various schemes like DAY-NRLM and PMAY-Gramin.

The four new trains flagged off include the Amrit Bharat Express connecting Saharsa and Mumbai, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Jaynagar and Patna, and trains running between Pipra and Saharsa, and Saharsa and Samastipur.

In addition to the new train services, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Supaul Pipra rail line, the Hasanpur Bithan Rail line, and two-lane rail over bridges at Chapra and Bagaha. He also dedicated the Khagaria-Alauli Rail line to the nation.

A foundation stone was laid for an LPG bottling plant with rail unloading facility at Hathua in Gopalganj District of Bihar. The project, valued at around ₹340 crore, is expected to streamline the supply chain and improve the efficiency of bulk LPG transportation.

Furthermore, the foundation stone was laid for projects worth over ₹1,170 crore, and multiple projects worth over ₹5,030 crore in the power sector in Bihar were inaugurated under the revamped distribution sector scheme.

Benefits of around ₹930 crore under the community investment fund will be distributed to over 2 lakh SHGs from Bihar under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY- NRLM).

Sanction letters were handed over to 15 lakh new beneficiaries of PMAY-Gramin, and installments were released to 10 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries from across the country. Keys were also handed over to some beneficiaries, marking the Grih Pravesh of 1 lakh PMAY-G and 54,000 PMAY-U houses in Bihar.
