Thailand’s Regional Container Lines (RCL) has ordered an additional pair of 4,300 teu ships with MB Shipbrokers reporting the line has returned to CSSC Huangpu Wenchong for this latest fleet expansion. The ships are priced at an estimated $60m per vessel basis delivery in Q4 2027 and Q1 2028. This brings RCL to 8 sister vessels on order at the feeder-specialist yard.

Founded in 1979, RCL has been listed on the Thai Stock Exchange since 1988.

RCL currently stands 26th on Alphaliner’s list of largest carriers, with 35 ships in its fleet totalling 78,854 teu, and 14 newbuilds.
