    Spain-based sanitaryware manufacturer Roca will invest Rs 400 crore for capacity expansion in Tamil Nadu to enhance exports from India. Out of its nine factories in the country, four are located in Tamil Nadu at Ranipet, Perundurai, Sriperumbudur and
    Irungattukottai. Roca Bathroom Products (Roca India) is sold under the brand name Laufen , Roca, Parryware and Johnson Pedder.

    ROCA India MD K Nirmal Kumar said that the company has committed to invest further in process automation to export products to Europe and Australia, capacity expansion in pipes and fittings and upgrade the sanitaryware and plastics technical centre to world standards in the state. “The overall investment will be to a tune of Rs 400 crore. All these factories produce goods which are supplied across the globe including Europe, which demands the best quality and environment friendly production methods.”

    The decision was made known after ROCA global director Carlos Velazquez and Kumar held a meeting with chief minister M K Stalin in Madrid, Spain. “In the meeting, the chief minister urged the company to expand and set up new units to further increase the sales and for global export. Industries minister TRB Rajaa also explained in detail the conducive industrial environment prevailing in the state for investment in the sector,” said an official release. Roca has proposed to set up a new unit in Perundurai in Erode district to manufacture pipes and fittings besides capacity expansion in existing units in Ranipet and
    Perundurai. The move will help generate 200 jobs.

    Spain’s ACCIONAhas also shown interest in investing in the sectors like renewable energy, desalination, and water treatment, the release said. During the meeting, the CM informed ACCIONA Energia CEO Rafael Mateo and CEO-Water Division Manuel Manjon Vilda about Tamil Nadu’s exclusive policy for investments in renewable energy.
