Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has entered into an agreement with NHAI represented by National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), for setting up of Multi-modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) across PAN India under Bharatmala Pariyojana on 06.09.2021. With the objective of enhancing logistics capabilities for the production and logistics of goods from ports, rural areas and for the entire country, RVNL and NHLML have agreed to collaborate and work together to achieve the objectives of developing the MMLP Project in an integrated manner.

The responsibility of RVNL will be for the design, planning, feasibility study, DPR, implementation and commissioning of road connectivity works for MMLPs. Separate agreements and contracts are being entered into at appropriate stages for each MMLP which is planned at 35 locations in the country.

The idea is to provide large-scale, standardised warehousing facilities for various types of goods by setting up project-specific SPV(s) on a “Hub and Spoke Model”. This Umbrella Agreement is valid for five years and can be extended. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) undertakes all types of railway infrastructure projects from concept to implementation; raising extra-budgetary resources by setting up project-specific SPVs. The company has achieved several milestones, including the completion of several projects such as new lines, doubling, gauge conversion, and electrification. It also constructs workshops, bridges, government buildings, and metro lines.
