Shipway has launched its self-learning AI-powered courier allocation engine, ShipSense. ShipSense is trained to automatically assign the most suitable delivery partner for each order based on parameters like cost, estimated delivery time, success rates, and past performance. The system continuously learns and is trained regularly based on the latest shipment data, allowing it to stay updated with changing logistics trends, seasonal demands, and shifting customer behaviour.

    Standout features

One of ShipSense’s standout features is its customer-focused logic, which segments customers based on factors like order frequency, payment behaviour, return rates, and average order value. This information is used to offer a premium delivery experience to top-tier buyers without human intervention. ShipSense allows businesses to customise and set auto-assignment rules according to their specific requirements, matching their requirements with real-time operating data to make optimised decisions.

    Decision-making across parameters

ShipSense’s automated courier allocation also considers payment mode, place of pick-up and delivery, order value, promised delivery time, and latest transit times for intelligent courier auto-assignment. The launch of ShipSense ahead of the festive season is expected to boost the ability to offer faster, more cost-effective, and reliable shipping options to D2C brands and sellers as they prepare for multiple online sales planned between August and December 2025.

    India’s growing logistics automation market

The company’s commitment to building robust logistics using cutting-edge technology for efficient logistics support to e-commerce brands and sellers is evident in the Indian logistics automation market, valued at US$ 1,877.0 mn in 2024 and estimated to reach US$ 8,068.7 mn by 2033, exhibiting a CAGR of 15.7 per cent during 2025-2033.
