Monaco-headquartered product tanker major Scorpio Tankers is shipping out a pair of MR vessels for a total price of $85m.

The Emanuele Lauro-led firm has struck a deal for the sale of 2014-built scrubber fitted STI San Antonio and STI Texas City at $42.5m each.

Delivery of the SSP-built 50,000 dwt ships is expected in the fourth quarter of 2024.

New York-listed Scorpio currently owns or leases 104 product tankers, 51 of which are MRs. In June, the company agreed the sale of five of its oldest MRs for about $179m.

In addition to latest disposals, the company has also landed a three-year charter deal with an oil major for the 2018-built MR STI Jardins. The charterer is set to start in the third or fourth quarter at $29,550 per day.
