SeaLoading Holding AS (SeaLoading), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) Group, has successfully completed its 100th crude oil offloading operation for Brazil’s state-owned energy major Petrobras, marking a significant milestone in their strategic partnership.

The achievement was commemorated with a joint ceremony attended by representatives from Petrobras, MOL, and SeaLoading, highlighting the strength of collaboration and shared commitment to operational excellence.

SeaLoading commenced trial operations of its Cargo Transfer Vessel (CTV) with Petrobras in January 2022. Since then, the company has conducted over 30 offloading operations using Sealoader 2, playing a critical role in transferring crude oil produced by a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit in the Santos Basin to conventional tankers.

Following the successful completion of the trial phase, Petrobras formally approved the CTV technology, enabling full-scale commercial operations. This progression ultimately culminated in the landmark 100th offloading, achieved in August 2025.

The milestone underscores the robustness of the Petrobras–SeaLoading partnership and reflects the growing acceptance of CTV technology as a safe, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to traditional shuttle tanker operations.

MOL Group reaffirmed its commitment to expanding crude oil offloading services through CTVs, positioning the technology as a sustainable and economically advantageous solution for offshore oil logistics worldwide.
