    Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, chaired a virtual review meeting today to assess the progress and implementation status of the Green Hydrogen Hub initiatives, with a focus on advancing sustainable and future-ready maritime infrastructure.

    The meeting was attended by the Chairperson of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Deputy Chairperson Shri Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, and senior port officials, reaffirming the Port’s strong commitment to India’s green energy transition.

    During the review, the Chairperson presented a comprehensive overview of the Port’s key green initiatives, including the Green Hydrogen Demonstration Plant, Green Methanol Bunkering Facility, and Green Mobility projects. These initiatives underscore VOC Port’s proactive role in promoting clean energy solutions and sustainable port operations in alignment with national decarbonisation goals.
