Brazil has opened the bidding process for the Santos Tecon10 Container Terminal, inviting global shipping lines and terminal operators to compete for the development and operation of one of its key port assets.

The initiative is part of Brazil’s broader strategy to expand port capacity, improve operational efficiency and attract private sector investment into critical maritime infrastructure at the country’s busiest container gateway.

The Santos port complex handles a significant share of Brazil’s international trade, and the Tecon10 terminal is expected to play a major role in accommodating rising container volumes and supporting long-term trade growth.

Authorities said the competitive bidding process will focus on enhancing terminal productivity, improving cargo handling efficiency and integrating advanced port technologies to modernise operations.

The move reflects growing interest from global shipping companies in Latin America’s port infrastructure as trade flows expand and governments seek to boost logistics competitiveness through public-private partnerships.
