India’s shrimp exports are projected to cross ₹50,000 crore in revenue, driven by strong global demand and higher realizations, according to ratings agency Crisil. Key markets in the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia are absorbing the bulk of Indian shrimp shipments, while the country continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading shrimp exporters.

Crisil noted that rising consumption trends, improved cold-chain logistics, and value-added processing are supporting export growth. The outlook remains positive despite potential challenges such as international price fluctuations, shipping disruptions, and geopolitical uncertainties.

Industry stakeholders emphasized the need to continue investing in quality control and sustainability practices to maintain India’s competitive edge in the global seafood market.
