Brunei’s Muara Port Company (MPC) has reached another key milestone in the nation’s maritime and logistics development with the maiden calls of Shandong International Transportation Corp. (SITC) and Warisan Shipping Line (WSL) on Saturday.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, said the entry of SITC and WSL into Muara Port reflects a shared commitment to strengthening national connectivity and boosting port throughput.
He noted that the new services align with Brunei’s broader objectives of providing more efficient logistics solutions, enhancing supply chain resilience, and creating greater employment opportunities for local talent.
Jason Jiang, General Manager of SITC, said the company is ready to support Brunei’s trade growth by offering regular vessel calls and reliable services. He added that SITC aims to increase cargo volumes through Muara Port and further strengthen Brunei’s connectivity with major ports across Asia.
The maiden calls are expected to enhance Muara Port’s role as a regional logistics hub and support Brunei’s long-term economic diversification efforts.
