Skyways Air Services increased its share of India’s air export market to 6.3% in the second quarter of FY2026-27, compared with 6.2% in the previous quarter, according to chargeable weight data from WorldACD Market Data. The company also improved its global ranking to 42nd from 44th.
The company attributed the growth to operational agility and effective capacity management amid global supply chain disruptions, fluctuating aviation fuel costs and changing geopolitical trade routes.
Performance during the quarter was supported by time-sensitive, high-yield shipments, including temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals, automotive components and electronics. Strong demand across major trade corridors connecting India with Europe, the Middle East and North America also contributed to the growth.
Skyways Air Services leverages long-term capacity agreements with leading global carriers, including Emirates SkyCargo, Lufthansa Cargo, Saudia Cargo, Turkish Cargo and Air India Cargo, to support reliable capacity and service continuity for customers.
Under its Skyways 2.0 strategy, the company is accelerating digital adoption through platforms such as ASAP, SLS 100X, Cargo Dash and Skart-Edge. These initiatives are aimed at integrating air and ocean freight, express logistics, customs clearance, road transport and warehousing into a more connected logistics platform.
Yashpal Sharma, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman and Managing Director of Skyways Air Services, said the company’s improved global ranking and increased domestic market share reflected customer confidence in its network and the commitment of its operating teams.
He said achieving a 6.3% share of India’s air export market in Q2 FY2026-27 demonstrated the resilience of the company’s asset-light business model and its ability to secure reliable capacity amid an unpredictable global environment.
With Indian manufacturing and merchandise exports gaining momentum, the company is focusing on expanding its network and building a more integrated, technology-enabled logistics platform to strengthen supply chain connectivity for Indian businesses.
Skyways Air Services is also pursuing international expansion, with plans to strengthen its presence across key Asia-Pacific trade hubs. Its strategy includes establishing dedicated operations and joint ventures in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and mainland China, building on its position in India’s air export market.
