The Sri Lanka Ports Authority has entered into a Terminal Service Agreement with Unifeeder Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, establishing a structured framework for terminal services at the Port of Colombo through 2028.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of senior SLPA leadership, including Parakrama Dissanayake, Herath M. P. Jayawardhana, and Ganaka Hemachandra, along with other officials. Representing Unifeeder Lanka, the agreement was executed by Sanjay Marasinghe, Sumedha Perera, and Thamira Jayasuriya.
The long-term agreement outlines defined parameters for terminal handling, operational coordination, and performance benchmarks, ensuring clarity and consistency in service delivery. With a validity extending through 2028, the arrangement is expected to provide operational continuity and enhance planning efficiency for feeder services operating through Colombo.
The partnership places emphasis on maintaining schedule integrity, improving terminal interface efficiency, and delivering reliable support for feeder operations. It is also aimed at sustaining throughput stability and reinforcing Colombo’s role as a key hub within intra-Asia shipping networks, reducing reliance on short-term contractual arrangements.
