Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMP Kolkata) has marked a new milestone in efficient and sustainable logistics with the commencement of rail movement of 96 TEUs of refined mustard oil from New Khari Road (KRIG) in Kutch, Gujarat, to Haldia for Gokul Agro Resources Ltd.
The cargo is being transported in a rake comprising 48 BLSS wagons, strengthening containerised domestic rail transportation and enabling seamless distribution of edible oil across Eastern and North-Eastern India.
The movement highlights the growing role of rail-based multimodal logistics in providing an efficient, reliable and sustainable link between production centres and consumption markets.
On the occasion, SMP Kolkata Chairman Rathendra Raman congratulated the trade partners, officers, employees and unions for the achievement.
