UAE-based cargo carrier SolitAir has launched freight services to Ghana via Accra International Airport (ACC), strengthening its growing presence in West Africa.
The new service connects Accra with Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) in Dubai, SolitAir’s home hub, over a distance of approximately 6,250 kilometres. The route is expected to provide additional air freight capacity for Ghana’s major export commodities, including gold, food products and perishables.
The Ghana launch expands SolitAir’s African network to 21 destinations across 17 countries, giving the carrier coverage of more than 30% of African countries. It follows the recent addition of Nigerian destinations to the network.
SolitAir said the new connection will strengthen trade links between UAE logistics networks and West African markets, supporting both exports from the region and growing demand for imported goods.
The carrier currently operates seven Boeing 737-800BCF freighters, each with a payload capacity of around 20 tonnes. Its global network now covers more than 60 destinations in over 40 countries across the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
SolitAir plans to expand its fleet to 20 aircraft by the end of 2027 as it continues developing connections between Dubai and underserved markets across the Global South.
