    Shri Rajesh Kumar Sinha, IAS, Special Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, conducted a comprehensive review of the functioning and key initiatives of the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), focusing on administrative performance, ongoing reforms, and institutional priorities.

    During the review, emphasis was laid on effective implementation of policies, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and improving service delivery to maritime stakeholders. The discussions underscored the importance of responsive governance and transparent processes in enhancing the efficiency of India’s maritime administration.

    The interaction reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to aligning DG Shipping’s initiatives with national maritime objectives under Maritime India Vision 2030 and the long-term development goals envisioned under Amrit Kaal 2047.

    DG Shipping reiterated its continued efforts to enhance regulatory efficiency, build stakeholder confidence, and support India’s expanding role in the global maritime sector through robust governance and reform-oriented measures.
