    Tamil Nadu has taken another significant step in strengthening its position as a global footwear manufacturing hub with the foundation stone laying ceremony for Phase II of Evervan Kothari Footwear Private Limited’s manufacturing facility in Karur.

    The foundation stone was laid by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, marking a major milestone in the state’s industrial growth and export-oriented manufacturing strategy.

    The second phase of the project will involve a proposed investment of ₹850 crore and is expected to generate 6,750 new employment opportunities. The expanded facility will manufacture footwear for global sportswear brand adidas, further enhancing Tamil Nadu’s role in the international footwear supply chain.

    With the completion of both Phases I and II, the integrated project will represent a total investment of ₹1,700 crore and create approximately 13,500 jobs, significantly contributing to regional economic development and skill-based employment.

    Once fully operational, the manufacturing complex is expected to produce 40 million pairs of footwear annually, boosting India’s footwear exports, strengthening the state’s manufacturing capabilities, and reinforcing Tamil Nadu’s reputation as a preferred destination for global manufacturing investments.

    The expansion reflects the state’s continued focus on attracting high-value investments, promoting export-led industrialisation, and creating large-scale employment opportunities through world-class manufacturing infrastructure.
