Tanzania will start exporting peas to the Indian market immediately, thanks to the deepened bilateral relations between the two countries.

Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mr. January Makamba, revealed this on Saturday through X (formerly Twitter), stating that the country will export the produce immediately until March 2025.

According to the minister, a new agreement will be signed after the expiration of the current deal.

The deal was reached after discussions between Mr. Makamba and India’s Minister of Corporate Affairs, Piyush Goyal, in New Delhi.

Moreover, Mr. Makamba noted that a Joint Trade Commission (JTC) will be held in April this year to set strategies for promoting trade between Tanzania and India.
