A trial run of a loaded freight electric train was successfully conducted between EDFC’s New Khurja station in Bulandshahr and New Khatauli station in Muzaffarnagar district, officials said on Saturday.

The 59 wagons were loaded with more than five tone coal. The goods trains heading to Punjab, through the 135km fully operational track, will move on the DFC alignment till Khatauli, that will save time. “On late Friday afternoon, the train left Khurja junction and reached Nabha thermal power plant in crossing Khatauli. The train crosses over Delhi-Meerut Expressway on a steel girder bridge,” said Ranvijay Singh, section in-charge, DFCC.
