TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS), the Chennai-based global supply chain solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sankyu Inc., a Japan-headquartered logistics and engineering company, to collaborate across supply chain and engineering services and unlock new growth opportunities across key industrial sectors.
The strategic partnership brings together TVS SCS’s extensive supply chain capabilities, strong market presence and established customer relationships with Sankyu’s engineering expertise, logistics capabilities and longstanding connections across Japan’s industrial ecosystem.
Under the MoU, the two companies will explore opportunities to offer integrated solutions covering logistics, warehousing, transportation, engineering services, maintenance and on-site industrial support. As part of the partnership, Sankyu also intends to acquire a 0.5 per cent equity stake in TVS Supply Chain Solutions.
Focus on India’s Manufacturing and Industrial Sector
The collaboration will initially focus on India, where both companies see significant opportunities to support manufacturing and industrial customers through a wider portfolio of supply chain and engineering solutions.
With more than 1,400 Japanese companies operating in India, particularly across manufacturing and industrial sectors, the partnership is positioned to address the evolving logistics, engineering and operational requirements of Japanese businesses while also serving a broader customer base.
Over time, TVS SCS and Sankyu plan to expand the collaboration across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, while exploring opportunities in other international markets where both organisations have an established presence.

He noted that Sankyu, since its establishment in 1918, has been focused on supporting the advancement of the manufacturing sector and said the companies would seek to combine their respective strengths to achieve growth in global markets and contribute to sustainable industrial development.
Joint Steering Committee to Drive Collaboration
To oversee the partnership, TVS SCS and Sankyu will establish a joint steering committee comprising representatives from both organisations.
The committee will identify potential growth opportunities, oversee strategic initiatives and support the development of integrated solutions designed to deliver greater value to customers and other stakeholders.
The partnership marks a strategic step towards combining supply chain, logistics and engineering capabilities to support India’s growing manufacturing ecosystem and strengthen the service offerings available to Japanese and other industrial customers.
