Western Carriers (India) Ltd has expanded its Devaliya Multi Modal Cargo Terminal (MMCT) in Gujarat to more than 42 acres, while widening its service destinations and cargo offerings to cater to a broader range of industries.
Launched in July 2025, the Devaliya MMCT is strategically located in the Saurashtra region and primarily serves the ceramic and tiles industry. The terminal is also catering to industrial chemicals and foodgrains.
Western Carriers has a strategic tie-up with Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) for the terminal. The facility was initially developed across 32 acres and has now been expanded to over 42 acres.
“Kanishka Sethia, Director and CEO, Western Carriers (India), said the expanded terminal provides an integrated range of logistics services, including first-mile and last-mile transportation, storage, stuffing, cargo handling and other related activities, supported by the company’s own equipment and manpower.
The company has also added more destinations to its Devaliya service network, enabling cargo from the Saurashtra industrial belt to reach markets across the country through an integrated road-rail logistics model.
The expansion is aimed at strengthening connectivity for the large ceramic and tile manufacturing cluster in and around Morbi while also attracting cargo from other industrial sectors.
With the enlarged infrastructure and wider service portfolio, Western Carriers is positioning Devaliya MMCT as an integrated multimodal logistics hub rather than a conventional rail cargo terminal.
The company is also seeking to diversify the terminal’s cargo base by increasing its presence in sectors such as industrial chemicals and foodgrains.
The expansion forms part of Western Carriers’ broader strategy to strengthen its multimodal logistics network and provide end-to-end cargo movement solutions combining rail, road transportation, storage, handling and value-added logistics services.
