V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (Tuticorin Port) has reported handling 17.89 million tonnes of cargo, including 3,61,991 TEUs of containers, up to August in the current financial year 2025–26.
This represents a 2.40% increase in overall cargo traffic and a 7.72% rise in container traffic compared to 17.47 million tonnes of cargo and 3,36,036 TEUs handled during the same period in 2024–25.
The port’s robust performance underscores its continued focus on efficiency, connectivity, and service excellence, reinforcing its status as a reliable gateway for global trade.
Officials noted that strategic investments in infrastructure and technology have been key drivers of this growth, ensuring smoother operations and enhanced capacity for both bulk cargo and containerized shipments.
