Vivek Gupta has assumed charge as Director (Finance) at Container Corporation of India Ltd., bringing with him more than three decades of experience spanning finance, IT systems, business development, and railway administration within Indian Railways.

A 1997-batch officer of the Indian Railway Accounts Service, Gupta is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi and Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani. Over the years, he has built a career that combines strong technical grounding with financial leadership.

During his tenure in Indian Railways, Gupta led several key initiatives, including the implementation of the Traffic Accounts Management System (TAMS). He also facilitated the development of the first freight terminal under the PPP policy at Bhopatpur and contributed to integrating the Crew Management System (CMS) with the Integrated Payroll and Accounting System (IPAS).

In addition, he played a significant role in refinancing a World Bank loan through the Indian Railway Finance Corporation, resulting in notable savings for the government.

His appointment is expected to strengthen CONCOR’s financial strategy and operational efficiency going forward.
