VOC Port has commenced the development of its new Multi-Cargo Berth No.10 with a groundbreaking ceremony held today in the presence of Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson of the Port, along with senior officials.

The upcoming berth, designed with a length of 445 metres and a draft of 10 metres, will be dredged to 15.5 metres, enabling it to handle vessels up to 1,25,000 DWT. Additionally, a 7.4-hectare backup yard with heavy-duty pavement will be built to ensure seamless cargo operations.

Scheduled for completion by 30 November 2026, the project is expected to significantly enhance VOC Port’s cargo handling capacity and strengthen its role as a premier multi-cargo gateway on India’s maritime map.
