Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has revealed that it has achieved the following milestones /records of highest tonnage ever recorded in a calendar month for the month of July 2023.
1) A record throughput of Bauxite – 2,59,242 MT (from 2 Vessels) was handled in July 2023. This surpasses the previous Bauxite record throughput of 1,81,741 MT (from 4 Vessels) handled in September 2016.
2) A record throughput of Manganese Ore of 3,66,752 MT (from 12 Vessels) was handled in July 2023.This surpasses the previous Manganese Ore record throughput of 3,60,666 MT (from 13 Vessels) handled in May – 2022.
VPA Chairman M Angamuthu congratulated all the officers, staff and workers of the port on this double achievement in July 2023.
