    Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh chaired the 13th meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee (IMSC) on August 25, 2026, to review and finalise pending cases under the Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS).

    Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), attended the meeting along with Ms Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary, Textiles; Ms Aarti Kanwar, Additional Secretary, Textiles; Ms Vrunda Manohar Desai, Textile Commissioner; senior officials from the Department of Financial Services and other key stakeholders.

    The meeting focused on detailed deliberations and the finalisation of pending ATUFS cases, aimed at ensuring timely support to the textile industry.

    The discussions are expected to contribute to faster technology adoption, enhanced competitiveness and sustained growth of India’s textile sector, while strengthening the industry’s capacity to meet evolving domestic and global market requirements.
