DACHSER has opened a new Container Freight Station (CFS) at Waddinxveen, near Rotterdam, to serve as a single hub for export cargoes in the Less Than Container Load (LCL) sector.
The logistics provider consolidates general cargo shipments from multiple European regions , including the Netherlands, Belgium, large parts of France and Germany, Switzerland, and occasionally Austria and Eastern Europe, at its contract logistics warehouse in Waddinxveen.
These shipments are then sent as bundled sea freight through the Port of Rotterdam, which serves as a key export gateway within DACHSER’s sea freight network.
As one of the world’s largest seaports, the Port of Rotterdam offers regular connections to major international commercial centres, with frequent links to Asia, and North and South America, and provides competitive shipping transit times.
At the same time, it is linked to DACHSER’s European road transport network through the local DACHSER branch in Waddinxveen.

Last month, the Port of Rotterdam carried out a pilot with moveable battery containers with shore power at the Steinweg Beatrix Terminal.
